First, a Vancouver Coastal Health application is required to serve food. Stall locations are secured on a first-come, first-served basis. Please work directly with local residents or neighbors to arrange your space. We kindly ask that you only sell items consistent with the spirit of Vaisakhi.

Note: The Sunset Community Centre is a separate process. Vendor spots are pre-determined, so this space is not first-come, first-served.

We ask that you help us with our zero-waste initiative. Please avoid using Styrofoam plates, cups, balloons, floating objects, and plastic straws. Also, please flatten any cardboard to assist city sanitation crews with their cleanup.

Yes, this is a family event where alcohol is strictly prohibited from being sold, distributed, or consumed. The event is also entirely vegetarian, with no meat products to be distributed or consumed. It is an open street festival with a formal procession.

If you plan to use open flames, you must have a fire extinguisher on hand. Please keep at least two sides of your tent open for safety. We recommend using an electric stove whenever possible.

Space is first-come, first-served. Many vendors secure spots based on past practice or by coordinating with a property owner. You may also find small spaces in front of empty storefronts in the Punjabi Market (Main St., from 49th to 51st Ave).

The procession runs from 11 AM to approximately 5:30 PM, but people often begin visiting stalls as early as 10:30 AM. Streets are closed and parking is restricted from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We advise setting up by 9:00 AM.
